We’ll be spending the trip touring design firms, exploring furniture showrooms, checking out art galleries, and trying some really fun restaurants around the city. It’s a chance to see what life in the design world actually looks like outside of studio, while also getting to explore a new city with your friends.

IIDA Speed Mentoring Event
Join us for our annual Speed Mentoring Event on January 29th at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville – Room 262B! Get ready for upcoming career days and interviews by participating in mock interviews, portfolio and résumé reviews, and a meet-and-greet with local professionals. This is a great opportunity to receive personalized feedback, build confidence, and expand your professional network.
Dinner will be provided. Business casual or professional attire is encouraged. Please bring any materials you would like reviewed, such as your portfolio, résumé, or design sheets. This will count for a professional point.

KNOXCON
Looking for a fun event: Knoxcon will be at The Press Room on October 16th from 10 AM-3 PM. Come and go as you please. Great opportunity to network and learn more about the industry. You can earn a professional point for attending and sending a photo to Sydney Kate (shorstm1@vols.utk.edu).
Looking to Volunteer: You can earn a philanthropy point for volunteering at either one of these tasks.
Guest Check-in (Event Duration)
Help check in guests at the entrance throughout the event
Two volunteers typically sufficient, but additional volunteers can rotate (2 come early, then 2 later)
Allows time to walk around the show between check-in duties
Traffic & Parking Management (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Assist with directing traffic during vendor setup
Position near entrance where vendors unload products
(1-2 volunteers from 10am -12pm, 1-2 from 12pm-3pm)
